PHILOSOPHY

Somers High School teachers, staff and administrators are committed to providing an environment that promotes learning experiences that will develop our students into caring, responsible and productive citizens of the 21st century. Toward that end, we are constantly reviewing and revising our curriculum and course offerings as well as our assessment and instructional practices to ensure that we are implementing the most current, research-based strategies.

We see technology as a tool for teachers and students to collaborate and communicate as well as a means to personalize the learning experience for our students. We are committed to promoting the ideals of self-discipline and self-reliance in order to prepare students to be college and career ready. We value and foster a commitment to service and celebrate the work of our students both in our local community as well as globally.
