Special Olympics

Somers High School participates in the NYS Special Olympics Pioneer League, which includes 15 teams from New Rochelle to Carmel.

The 3 seasons include fall (Indoor Soccer), winter (Floor Hockey), and spring (Basketball). 

The team practices weekly with the support of peer-coach to provide an inclusive social experience as well as peer-training model at practices. Weekly home games and traveling to away games at other schools includes both skills and competitive play for athletes based on interest and ability.
